| Entry 29: Special about JOHOR
Johor is a Malaysian state, located in the southern
portion of Peninsular Malaysia. It is one of the most developed states in
Malaysia. The state capital city is Johor Bahru.
Johor become amazing state because many factors. First, in terms of development, Iskandar,
Johor known as Iskandar Development Region and South Johor Economic Region. It
is intended to draw investment and business to Johor and will be among the
biggest development projects in Malaysia. The state administration center will
be moved to Nusajaya.
Second, in terms of education, Johor has several
institutions such as three universities, namely Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
(UTM) in Skudai, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in Parit Raja, Batu
Pahat, Universiti Teknologi MARA Johor ( UiTM) in Segamat and UiTM City Campus
in Johor Bahru . Johor has several polytechnics such as Politeknik Ibrahim
Sultan and Politeknik Mersing Johor. Johor also has a teaching college called
Maktab Perguruan Temenggung Ibrahim.
Third, in terms of sport, Johor famous with football team
because Johor has Johor Darul Takzim FC or more familiar as JDT. They play in
the top division in Malaysian football, the Malaysian Super League.
Last, in terms of attractions. Johor has a variety of
attractions that can be visited such as Legoland. Legoland Malaysia is a theme
park that has opened in Nusajaya, Johor. It is the first Legoland theme park in
Asia upon its establishment. In addition, there are various shopping malls such
as Plaza Angsana, Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) and Danga City Mall.
